1. I’m addicted to making, but not ordering, photo books from Shutterfly. I’ve made like 10 but have only actually ordered one thanks to this coupon. You’re welcome.

2. We had a dog whisperer come to our house to show us how to man up and take control of our dogs. So far, it’s working. (Apparently, screaming obscenities at them isn’t effective. Who knew?)

3. Owen has quite the vocabulary and can now say a number of cute things, including, but not limited to, “hey dude,” “bird,” “ball,” “store”, and “beach.”

4. Jake got me a subscription to Birch Box for Mother’s Day and boy am I in love – with Birch Box, that is. (I’m also in love with Jake, but you probably knew that already.)

5. I went to Target today and bought Owen two shirts and some pajamas for less than $9. Andrea would be proud, I think.

6. The Bachelorette is back on, which means I will be wasting two hours of my life each week watching total crap. My friend, Cristin, makes it worth it, though, with her Bachelor/Bachelorette recap posts. Fair warning: you might wet your pants a little from laughing. (She’s a fantastic blogger, so even if you don’t enjoy wasting two hours each week on smut, you should check out her blog anyway.)

All for now, friends! Have a happy Tuesday!

What We Read: April Edition

May 9, 2012

Y’all. I have reached a book loving mama’s dreamland. Owen is bringing me books to read to him. It’s pretty adorable and the chambers of my heart sing in four-part harmony every time he comes to me and says “book,” while holding one. He might not sit through the whole book (and he might want [...]

Toes in the Sand

May 7, 2012

I love the beach, and if I could live on Fernandina Beach, I would. Jake always tells me that I would eventually get tired of it, but I don’t think I would. I could spend every day of my life looking and listening to that ocean and be a very, very happy woman. We spent [...]

Now I’m unpacking from vacation. Bleh. I can’t wait to tell you alllll about it. (Preview: Owen said “seashell” for the first time, [...]

You’ve Got a Friend (Happy National Infertility Awareness Week!)

April 24, 2012

When my best friend told me she and her husband were most likely not going to be able to conceive a child naturally, I honestly didn’t know the first thing about infertility. I was so far removed from the subject at the time that I didn’t even know why or how to chart ovulation. Not [...]

Life Is Like a Box of Cupcakes

April 15, 2012

Picture this: You and I are standing in line at a cupcake bakery and I am SO excited to get my favorite flavor – chocolate (duh) – that I just can’t contain myself. In fact, I’m so extremely enthusiastic about my choice that I just have to tell everyone about it. I list off all [...]

Friday Free For All!

April 13, 2012

For the last few weeks, I’ve been using Fridays as an opportunity to share what I’ve learned or thought was interesting/helpful throughout the week. Let’s do this! 1. Can’t We All Just Get Along? Ugh. Thanks to Ann Romney and Hilary Ronson, the stay-at-home mom vs employed mom debate is a’blazing again. Once again, UGH. [...]

I Love My Little Lion! (Costume Discounters Review)

April 10, 2012

So, you know how I have a tendency to put things off? You didn’t? Well, I do. And, despite what Jake tells you, I also have a tendency to be, ahem, cheap frugal. So, those tendencies combined led to Owen being this for Halloween last year: Thanks to my mad procrastination skills and unwillingness to [...]

What We Read: March Edition

April 9, 2012

Well good grief, y’all! We’re almost two weeks into April and I still haven’t posted about what we read last month. Is it just me, or does 2012 seem like it’s flying by? We really enjoyed this month’s books, but first I wanted to share something I learned from I Can Teach My Child about [...]
