Review: Dollar General Premium Diapers A Win!

October 30, 2012 in Reviews,Savings

Happy Halloween!

Let’s talk diapers, shall we?

When Owen came along I was a very big brand snob. “Only the best for my baby!” I thought. Pretty soon, though, our wallets were begging for some relief, and we started slowly incorporating more store-brand items onto our grocery list.

So, when Dollar General sent me a box of their new Premium Diapers to try, I was excited to give them a whirl and slapped those bad boys on Owen as soon as they arrived. I’ll be honest and admit that I was a little nervous, because even though I love a good store-brand, I don’t love the idea of changing wet clothes or having a great nap ruined by a leaky diaper. But my desire to save some money was stronger than any reservations I had about a store-brand diaper.

When I opened the pack, I was surprised by the look of the diaper – way cuter than some of the other diapers we’ve used. Owen had fun pointing out the difference animals.

We made it through an entire day with no leaks – even a nap! I used the same amount of diapers I usually do (about six a day) and didn’t have a single problem. We did, however, have a leak that night, so I wouldn’t recommend these for overnight use. (Dollar General does offer an overnight diaper, so that might be an option if you’re interested.)

All in all, I was really pleased with the Dollar General Premium Diapers and will definitely be purchasing them in the future.

Check it! I received a free pack of Dollar General’s Premium Diapers in order to write this review, but my opinions are my own. Honest!

We use Seventh Generation diapers because Sullivan was super sensitive to some chemical in regular diapers and kept getting really bad diaper rash. I can count on one hand how many rashes he’s had since we switched over 18 months ago. Plus they’re more environmentally friendly so I don’t feel quite so bad about filling landfills. Glad these worked for you. I wish I could find a good store brand! My budget would appreciate it.
